    1. Yes to the times tables. I can give you a sheet to test her with. It is better if you test her out of order.

Are you talking about reading books?

      Thank you for commenting.

    1. Hi Terry,

He has been given Year 6 Maths workbooks with activities to complete which we will mark so I can see where his gaps are.

We can talk about this further at the 3 way interviews. Try and be the last one for the night.

I will get a list of books for you that he can read.

      Thank you for replying

    1. Hi Seine,

They should be reading for about 15 minutes every day at home. They read a lot at school but it would be good for him to get into the habit of reading at home.

  6. Hi Sione,

Thank you for commenting. I will ask SIlia when I see her tomorrow because she does not really show what excites her. :)
I will print off Times Table sheets so that you can test her each night. She really needs to learn her Multiplication and Division facts.

    1. Hi Mei,

Can you please check that he is doing the correct Home Learning. Sometimes he does what he wants instead of following the instructions.

I leave the free time choice up to you. The rule in class is free time after work has been done, checked and triple checked and completed to a high standard.

Please can you check that Solomone has done his Home Learning.
Get him to show you his work.

  12. Hi Mrs Middleton,

Would you be able to tell me which subjects Kalisi finds difficult or weak on that maybe i can help with after school?

Does Kalisi participate in most of your class activities or she still being the shy monkey that she is?

  13. Morena Mrs Middleton,
I posted earlier, but am unsure whether it went through. Gabriel is struggling with writing sentences and using punctuation. Should this be a focus for his home learning?
Are there other curriculum areas that he needs home help with?
    THank you,
    Marieta Esekielu (Aunty).

    1. Morena Marieta,

Writing should be and I asked him to do a piece of writing every night and bring it to me the next day so I could go through it with him and give him feedback.

      I am still waiting.

I have also given him activities in the past to do with sentences and punctuation. When I ask him questions he knows what to do, he is just not applying it to his writing.

I will give him new Home Learning on the Home Learning page for his writing. Could someone at home please follow up and check his work. Also it would help if someone could give him feedback.

Gabriel needs an audience so he can share his learning and it would be be great if he could get feedback from home on his writing.

I do it in class but getting it from home as well will help him lift his results.

      Many Thanks

      Mrs Middleton

  15. Hi Sharon,
I really enjoyed that thorough and detailed letter. Certainly is very helpful to let me know what is expected of Diego and also up and coming events for the term.
Do you have anymore tips/advice on how to get Diego to slow down. To pause and think things through a bit more. Specific words I should be using maybe? How do you manage it in class?
Always appreciate the extra work you put into Diego and the other students.

  21. Question 1. Sione:Is there any way that my family can help me?

Question 2.Mum: Is there a specific topic for writing that Sione needs to focus on and perhaps I could encourage him to practice here at home or is it more so any random topic but focussing on the type of writing (recount, etc).

Question 3. Mum: Sione is very intrigued about mathematics and furthering his skills, and knowledge in different mathematical areas, so we are both excited to see how this terms maths focus, will help him succeed further.
