Roots - Water Inquiry topics with Waikare, Candice and Alice
ROOTS, a group from the community came to St Pius X to teach us about the importance of water and how they can save it. This tied in with our Inquiry unit on Water and ran for 5 weeks. Room 6 also did this unit and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Water Cycle, the different States of Matter for water, how to make our own Water filter, how to make a Vertical Garden, and how to make a litterless lunchbox.
Alice, Waikare and Candice from ROOTS did exciting hands on learning with us and we learned a song that helped us remember the Water Cycle.

Nice Work, Room 5. You're so lucky, that you got to go and be a part of the Roots. It is amazing how you all created the water filter to recycle dirt water and clean it. Well done Room 5, Keep up the great work!
